U.N. Security Council to discuss U.S. Golan declaration Wednesday

The United Nations Security Council will meet Wednesday at 11:00 P.M. Israel time to discuss the United States declaration recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights after Syria requested that the Security Council address the issue.
The discussion will also address the activities of the UNDOF.
"For 19 years, Syria used the Golan as a position against the State of Israel and today it is Iran that wants to place its soldiers on the border of the sea of Galilee," the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon said in response.  "Israel will never allow this to become a reality and the time has come for the international community to recognize that the Golan will remain under Israeli sovereignty forever. The US and Israel will stand as a front in the debate against hypocrisy and lies."
