UNIFIL to deploy extra troops, patrols in Lebanon

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said that it will deploy extra troops and patrols in the southern Lebanon. The comments come in response to an escalation that occurred overnight Monday when four Katyusha rockets were fired at the Western Galilee.

The organization also called for restraint: "This is a serious incident in violation of UN Security Council resolution 1701 and is clearly directed at undermining stability in the area," UNIFIL said in a statement.
