Van Leer Institute to add new building in Jerusalem

A new building will be built to house the Polonsky Academy for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences on the grounds of the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, the Jeruslaem-based institution announced in a press release on Thursday.
The new institute will serve as the academic home for 30 post-doctoral fellows from Israel and abroad until they succeed in finding a post at an Israeli academic institution. Every fellow will receive a fellowship worth $40,000 a year for up to five years.
The cornerstone for new building will be laid in a ceremony with Mayor Nir Barkat on Sunday, May 30.
