Yesha leaders implore Netanyahu to meet on settlements

The heads of the Jewish communities in the West Bank on Saturday night beseeched Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to meet with them ahead of the arrival of US Middle East envoy George Mitchell in the region on Monday. Dani Dayan, who heads the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip, sent a letter to Netanyahu, stating that "we are in the midst of a complete building freeze, not one building plan in Judea and Samaria has been approved for months." "The government you head set off with a declared intention of reviving Jewish West Bank settlements," Dayan reminded Netanyahu in the letter. "It is essential to us that you meet with a delegation of Judea and Samaria settler leaders, who deal with the issues at hand on a daily basis, are versed in the material and lead the settlers, in order to discuss the condition of the settlements and their future," he concluded.
