Yishai says Shas is not in favor of early elections

Interior Minister Eli Yishai said he prefers not to go to early elections, but said Shas would be ready at any point should Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu initiate them, Israel Radio reported Wednesday.
Responding to Prime Minister Netanyahu's statement that if an agreement to pass the 2013 budget cannot be made with Shas and other coalition partners, he would initiate early elections in mid-January or mid-February, Yishai said his party was "ready yesterday" for elections, since it does not need to hold primaries.
However, Yishai stated Shas preferred a compassionate budget to early elections.
