You don’t always need a complicated recipe to impress. A few simple ingredients – ready round rice, sesame, soy, and honey – turn within minutes into Asian crackers.

This is a snack that combines sweetness and umami, perfect for hosting, for a plate next to a cold drink, or as a base for sauces and spreads. A short, addictive recipe, and easier than you thought.

Ingredients

Cooked round rice

Sesame

3 tablespoons soy

1 tablespoon honey

Preparation

1. Flatten the cooked rice between two lightly greased baking sheets (or cling wrap) and roll into a thin, even layer.

2. Mix the soy with the honey in a bowl.

3. Brush the rice with the honey and soy mixture.

4. Cut circles out of the flattened rice and fry in a little oil until crispy.
