A fragment of an Iranian missile struck a residential building used by the United States consul in Jerusalem, Israeli media reported on Sunday.
The US State Department said there were no injuries to US personnel.
A State Department spokesperson said in a statement that debris struck a residential area following the intercept of a missile.
"The United States strongly condemns Iran and Iran-backed terrorist militias' attacks on diplomatic, military, and civilian infrastructure in the region," the spokesperson said.
Iranian missile strikes on Israel
Following missile barrages launched from Iran into Israeli territory on Sunday, several instances of fallen shrapnel from missile interceptions were reported.
The missiles fired towards central and southern Israel included cluster munitions.
Multiple people were injured, including three elderly civilians. According to Magen David Adom, two men were treated for light injuries following the missile fire. One man in central Israel was evacuated to the hospital in moderate condition after being wounded by glass shards during the missile barrage.
