BBB Group, one of Israel’s largest restaurant operators, has acquired the American Dolce pizza brand for about NIS 1 million, the company said on Monday in Ra’anana. The deal marks BBB’s first move into pizza and includes plans to develop a nationwide chain. The company framed the step as a strategic expansion into a growing premium fast-food category.

The acquisition covers the American Dolce pizzeria at 3 Zarchin Street in Ra’anana. The separate Dolce Italian restaurant in the city is not part of the transaction and will continue operating independently.

Expansion plan and management

BBB said it intends to open about 25 American Dolce branches across Israel over the coming years through franchisees. Founders Dolev Alali and Moran Shakoof will stay on to manage and lead the brand following the sale.

American Dolce offers three distinct pizza styles under one roof: New York, pan, and Detroit, with the latter described as unique in Israel. Pizzas are handmade on-site with imported ingredients and strict quality standards, according to the company.

BBB Group’s partners include CEO Ahuva Turgeman and other founders, with Dor Alon owning 50% of the company since 2021. The group operates more than 100 restaurants nationwide under brands including BBB, Burgerim, and Moses, and it recently expanded with the Rapidos Latin-Mexican chain.

“We recognize significant growth potential in the pizza world, similar to what we achieved previously in the burger market,” CEO Ahuva Turgeman said. “American Dolce is a brand with strong DNA, well-known and loved by the Israeli consumer, offering an exceptional product led by a professional team.”
