The events of October 7 and the Swords of Iron War established a new national agenda and created a reality of rupture, pain, fear, and ongoing concern for all of us. Alongside these hardships, moments of unity, compassion, and mutual responsibility also emerged. One such moment was the awarding of a certificate of recognition and appreciation to the protected factory Agit Medtech (Technologies) for its partnership and significant contribution to the IDF’s combat effort and the security establishment during the Swords of Iron War and the Iran–Israel war.

Agit Medtech (Technologies), operated under the Public Health Association, specializes in the assembly and packaging of medical equipment. Excellence, work according to stringent professional standards, and continuous adaptation to technological developments and market needs are the cornerstones of its activity. Over the years, collaborations have been established with leading organizations and companies in the Israeli economy, including the of Defense Ministry, the Health Ministry, Sarel, Remedix Care, Becton Dickinson Israel, and others.

Accumulated experience and professional expertise have made the factory a significant supplier for hospitals and medical device companies. Beyond its business and professional activity, the true uniqueness of Agit Medtech (Technologies) lies in its identity as a protected factory - one that connects advanced industry with the human psyche.

The factory’s commitment to its clients is clear: Providing professional, reliable, and high-quality service, with customer satisfaction at the top of its priorities. This commitment is intertwined with a social mission to develop and make accessible employment pathways for people coping with mental health challenges. When this is the spirit that prevails in routine times, it is no surprise that it intensifies during emergencies.

Adi Gadasi, Manager of Agit Medtech (Technologies), describes the first moments of the war: “With the outbreak of the fighting, we received an inquiry from the IDF Medical Corps, with whom we also work in routine times. They asked how many medical kits we could assemble. When I asked, ‘How many are needed?’, the answer was: ‘Start working.’”

The factory’s designation as an “essential facility” enabled it to operate around the clock - at times literally under fire—and to supply the IDF with thousands of CRP kits: Medical equipment for field surgeries and on-site medical interventions. “We were significant partners in the effort. Our people mobilized with full force, and the service users themselves were active partners in strengthening the resilience of the State of Israel,” Gadasi adds.

At the factory, more than 60 mental health service users have found an empowering vocational home that enables personal and social growth. They receive training, guidance, and the acquisition of professional skills, all of which constitute a significant stage in building a career and integrating into the labor market.

In a competitive and sometimes unforgiving world, the challenge is twofold: Meeting the highest standards while creating a supportive work environment that allows every employee to overcome objective limitations and become a success story. Already at the factory entrance, stigmas and prejudices shatter. The technological and up-to-date design, the clean rooms, and the logistical space reflect a world of innovation, professionalism, and meaningful action.

Nir and Orly, two of the mental health service users working at the factory, describe the sense of mission with striking simplicity: “We are helping the army, especially during the past two very challenging years. We prepare kits, test tubes, and medical equipment. We work hard, as long as our soldiers stay alive.”

Most of the service users integrated into the factory did not serve in the IDF. Precisely for this reason, their work for the combat medical system created a deep sense of mission, strengthened self-worth, unit pride, and a sense of belonging to Israeli society - this time not from a place of weakness, but of strength. Attorney Yasmin Nahum, CEO of the Public Health Association, concludes: “At a time when the home front trembled and the front lines burned, those who are usually pushed to the margins of society stood at the heart of the national effort and quietly and persistently became true heroes. This is Zionism in action.”

A visit to Agit Medtech (Technologies) challenges concepts such as “invisible people.” It reveals a different reality: Women and men with strength, abilities, and a strong desire to contribute, who primarily need the right environment in order to flourish, express themselves, and be meaningful. The certificate of appreciation awarded to the factory’s employees is a symbolic yet important moment, one worth cherishing, and one that we hope will serve as an opening to further opportunities for connections between uncompromising professionalism and the power of the human spirit.
