Summary of Events Over Last Three Weeks:
The start of the new year saw a shocking display of antisemitic hatred on the streets of New York City. Protesters openly chanted "We support Hamas," alongside calls for "intifada" and a "people’s war," outside a Jewish yeshiva in Kew Hills Garden neighborhood of Queens on Thursday night.
The demonstration took place only a week after newly-inaugurated Mayor Zohran Mamdani revoked executive orders issued by his predecessor Eric Adams recognizing the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism.
With these first actions in office, Mayor Mamdani showed the concerns of Jewish New Yorkers about his long record of anti-Israel radicalism were justified, and that the Mamdani-led City Hall will incite, rather than fight, the most common form of modern-day antisemitism, which is anti-Zionism. The scenes from Thursday’s protest in Queens only further proved this point.

- Spain: Members of Spain’s Jewish community filed a complaint with the online platform GoGoCarto over an interactive mapping project that blacklisted Jewish businesses in the Catalonia region.
