Chabad’s emergency and security center on Thursday urged Jewish communities worldwide to exercise heightened caution due to Operation Roaring Lion.
The threat level has risen significantly following the preemptive US-Israel airstrikes on Iran, the center said. It is recommended that Jewish communities take precautions.
“Iranians around the world now have very high motivation to carry out retaliation and harm Israeli and Jewish targets,” Chabad World Assistance (CWA) wrote in a letter addressed to Chabad emissaries and community rabbis.
“There is a real risk of attempts to attack members of Jewish communities," the letter said.
“In the coming days, reduce non-essential outings. In any unusual incident, promptly update your regional security coordinator or the local police,” the letter continued.
Security guidance: Shift public events to closed venues
Any events taking place in open locations that cannot be fully secured by local police or armed security personnel should be moved to a closed, secure venue, CWA said.
This echoed the advice of President Isaac Herzog, who on Tuesday urged Jewish communities around the world to remain cautious and vigilant.
“The Iranian regime seeks to harm Jews wherever it can,” he said. “As you stand with us, we stand with you. Be cautious, be alert, and hold your head high.”
