'We want a state, not unilateral declaration,' Fayyad says

PA prime minister says in Israeli TV interview that no purpose would be served by unilaterally declaring statehood.

The Palestinian people are not interested in another unilateral declaration of statehood, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad told Channel 2 in an excerpt of an interview aired Wednesday night.
"We want a state of Palestine, not a unilateral declaration of statehood," Fayyad told the interviewer. He explained that he did not see how a unilateral declaration of statehood would assist the Palestinian cause.

On Friday, Al Quds al-Arabi reported that the Palestinian Authority will stop coordinating its security with Israel, in response to the US's official announcement that peace talks have failed,  reported.
Hana Amireh, a PLO official, told the London-based newspaper that the PA is also considering canceling its other commitments to Israel, including the Oslo Accords and the Road Map, which demand that terror organizations will stop.
Yasser Abed Rabbo, a senior PLO official and an adviser to PA President Mahmoud Abbas reportedly plans to convene a meeting with the PLO and Fatah central committees on Friday afternoon, in order to make a new plan for the Palestinians.
