The Knesset Finance Committee was scheduled to vote Thursday on a request by the Treasury to cut NIS 1 billion from government ministries' budgets.
The budget cut is aimed mainly at covering costs incurred by the Second Lebanon War, as well as funding the coalition agreement with Israel Beitenu, which calls to exempt the country's elderly from paying television tax and provide benefits to Holocaust survivors.
