A gunman opened fire on a downtown street during the morning rush hour Monday in this southern Australian city, killing one person, wounding two and sending hundreds of panicked bystanders fleeing in terror, police and media reports said. Two people were rushed to hospital in critical condition after being shot in the chest, Victoria state police said. Another was being treated at the scene and may have died, Channel Nine television reported.
