Militants kill 2 Russian servicemen in Chechnya

Unidentified militants have killed two Russian servicemen in the latest attack in Chechnya, officials said Wednesday. The attack occurred around midnight in the Chechnya's provincial capital, Grozny, when several gunmen fired automatic weapons at an interior troops base, the regional branch of Russia's Interior Ministry said in a statement. In a separate attack Tuesday, two militants shot and badly wounded a traffic police officer in the center of Grozny, it said. Perpetrators of both attacks have fled.
