Vice Premier Shimon Peres is set to meet with new UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon in New York on Friday.
The two are set to discuss the implementation of UN Resolution 1701, specifically the cease-fire in Lebanon and the disarming of Hizbullah.
Army Radio reported that Peres will also ask the incoming UN secretary general to try and obtain a sign of life of kidnapped IDF reservists Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev.
