Libya said Monday that the United States will help the north African country generate nuclear electricity as part of a new agreement, the country's official news agency reported.
Washington had no immediate comment, and it wasn't immediately clear if the US had agreed to a specific plan.
The Libyan Cabinet gave the Foreign Ministry permission to sign an agreement regarding American-Libyan cooperation for peaceful nuclear energy for water desalination and to generate electricity, Libya's news agency, Jana, said. Libya was expected sign the agreement soon, Jana said.
