The IDF has completed most of its preparations for receiving the Gaza hostages, living and deceased, in Camp Re’im near the Gaza border, a source told Walla on Wednesday.

According to Walla, the preparations included arranging for proper personal equipment and hygiene infrastructure, refreshing orders and procedures, and preparing for the arrival of the absorption teams.

Israel ‘cautiously optimistic’ as hostage talks continue

Israeli officials told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday that they were "cautiously optimistic" at the end of Monday's talks. 

The first round of negotiations between the Hamas terrorist organization and mediators over the hostage deal was “characterized by positivity,” according to sources cited by the Qatari news network Al Jazeera on Tuesday.

The terror group confirmed on Wednesday that prisoner lists were exchanged as part of ongoing indirect talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire agreement.

Additionally, reports indicated that Hamas on Wednesday demanded "written, not verbal, guarantees" of Israel's commitment to the proposed ceasefire agreement.
