Amid reports of severe nationwide flooding due to heavy rainfall overnight into Tuesday morning, first responders have rescued dozens of people across the country.

A section of the security fence has also collapsed in the West Bank, Israeli media reported.

Additionally, Israel Fire and Rescue Authority noted that, among those saved by first responders were 10 people, including a mother and an infant, in the West Bank community of Elkana.

"We received a report of civilians trapped in their homes due to flooding," Shift Commander Reshef Tomer said. "Upon arrival, we made contact with the civilians and evacuated them from their homes unharmed.”

The water was over a meter high in places, according to the authority.
