A helicopter was being towed by another aircraft when its harnesses failed, causing it to fall and crash near houses in Gush Etzion on Friday morning.
The Yanshuf helicopter had made an emergency landing on Tuesday in the Etzion Brigade sector due to weather conditions.
During an attempt at its retrieval, the harnesses used to tow it from the belly of a separate helicopter became detached, causing the helicopter to fall.
No casualties in helicopter towing mishap
There were no casualties, the IDF reported.
The Commander of the Israeli Air Force, Maj.-Gen. Tomer Bar has ordered the establishment of a military investigation committee to investigate the incident.
