A terrorist who was killed by Israeli troops after crossing Gaza's Yellow Line earlier in the week was likely Muhammad Salah al-Din Khaled Abu Raqba, a Hamas terrorist who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre, the IDF announced on Saturday.
The IDF stated that the incident occured on Thursday. At the time, the military published little information on the matter, stating that a terrorist was spotted attempting to approach IDF soldiers stationed along the Yellow Line.
In response, after determining that the terrorist posed an immediate threat to their safety, troops killed him, the IDF stated.
While in the Saturday statement, the military stated that information from the IDF Intelligence Directorate "suggests" that Raqba was the individual killed in the event, it also published a graphic asserting that he had been killed.
IDF takes out two terrorists crossing Yellow Line
An additional IDF statement revealed that two terrorists had been caught crossing the Yellow Line on Saturday in two separate incidents.
The terrorists approached IDF troops in what was judged to pose an immediate threat to their safety, and both were successfully killed.
Both IDF statements also reaffirmed that troops stationed in the Southern Command "remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat."
