Hamas operatives have repeatedly used emergency vehicles in Gaza to transport weapons from a hospital to a school, the IDF stated on Wednesday.
The military also released drone footage, recorded during routine drone sweeps along the Strip's Yellow Line, showing armed operatives transporting the weapons via ambulances.
The IDF stated that this constitutes a violation of international law because the Hamas operatives are not only "deliberately disguising themselves as civilians to advance terrorist activity," but also using civilian infrastructure to store weapons.
"The IDF will continue to act in accordance with international law regarding medical facilities and educational institutions," the military stated, "despite the fact that Hamas has chosen to entrench its terrorist infrastructure within them."
IDF finds huge haul of mortars in UNRWA blankets, humanitarian aid
Earlier, the IDF on Tuesday announced that it found a huge haul of around 110 mortar rounds, as well as some rockets and other military items, concealed within UNRWA blankets and humanitarian aid in southern Gaza.
A statement said that the IDF’s 7th armored brigade found the weapons, one of the most extensive single finds of longer-range weapons since US President Donald Trump’s 2025 Gaza ceasefire deal in October, during its standard patrols within Israeli-held territory east of the Yellow Line.
