MK David (Dudi) Amsalem was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack on Saturday, according to his spokesperson.
His office stated that he was in “good condition” as he returned home to continue recovering from the medical incident.
Amsalem’s office further added that he was treated immediately and diligently at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
“The Minister is currently resting at home, feeling well, and from there he continues to fully manage and operate the activities of his ministry," his office stated.
"I sincerely thank the medical team at Shaare Tzedek for their professional care, and to all the thousands of citizens and friends who have been praying for my well-being and showering me with love since this morning," said Amsalem. "I feel great, I have returned to work, and I wish all of us only health and good news."
Amsalem previously served as Minister of Justice, Minister of Communications
Amsalem, who served as Minister of Justice and the Minister Liaison between the government and the Knesset, resigned from his membership in the 25th Knesset in March 2023 under the "Norwegian Law," when Avichay Boaron entered the Knesset in his place.
In the past, Amsalem served as Minister of Communications, Chairman of the Interior and Environmental Protection Committee, and Chairman of the Coalition.
Before his election to the Knesset, Amsalem worked for about 20 years in the Jerusalem Municipality and served as Director of the City Improvement Department.
