Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) protesters blocked the entrance to the IDF's Central Command headquarters in Jerusalem on Tuesday, with videos shared online showing them blocking the way for soldiers going to the base.

The haredim, who were protesting against mandatory conscription for ultra-Orthodox men, were seen blocking part of the gate, screaming at soldiers, and not letting them through.

In the videos shared online, police officers were present attempting to disperse the protest, with soldiers from the base trying to remove them, while the haredim were sitting in the entrance blocking the way.

No official statements have been issued by the military or the police for the time being.

Haredi enter light rail construction in Jerusalem

In an earlier protest on Monday, haredi men attempted to enter the Jerusalem light rail, blocked traffic on Bar Ilan Street and were eventually dispersed by the police.

The street was reopened to traffic following the altercation.

On Sunday, Israel Police announced that another person was arrested after damaging the construction site and engaging in physical disputes with construction workers.

"The rioters entered a light rail work compound, damaged infrastructure, attempted to block traffic routes, and disrupted public order at the site. A police officer declared a public disorder incident and called on the rioters to evacuate the route," according to the police's statement.

This is a developing story.
