These are happy but hard times.
Between the heat waves and the sand storms, the High Holy Days and the endless cooking and cleaning, I felt it was time to take five and take care of me. As it happens, famed Israeli beautician to the celebrities Hava Zingboim recently joined forces with one of the best (if not the…) spas in Tel Aviv, the Sheva spa at the Tel Aviv Hilton. Together they offer a line of rejuvenating facials combined with traditional Thai foot massage in their exquisite treatment rooms.
A lovely Thai welcoming party greets you with the traditional greetings as you enter the Sheva spa. As you are ushered into the changing room and given a locker, a robe and slippers, you already feel relaxed and transported to another world.
If you choose a facial, the next step is a treatment room where a beautician and a Thai masseuse wait for you. The treatment (as all treatments in this establishment) begins with a foot bath. After a short talk and a facial analysis, the beautician will decide which of the rejuvenating, anti-aging treatments suits you, and then all you have to do is relax. While the beautician treats your face, the masseuse thoroughly massages your feet and legs, charging your whole body with renewed energy.
The facial was amazing. The famed products and technique proved worthy of their reputation, while the foot massage, a complete yet very welcome surprise, was relaxing and rejuvenating, and somehow the two simply worked together. How come no one thought of it before? The green tea and fruit in the relaxation room afterwards were a smooth way to bring me back to reality… and some more holiday cooking.
