Seven people were wounded in light condition on Friday morning while running to protected areas following an Iranian missile that fell in Beersheba, according to a Soroka Medical Center spokesperson.

All the wounded were evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment, the spokesperson added.

IDF Search and Rescue forces are operating in the city following the missile impact, the military confirmed.

This followed the IDF's Home Front Command issuing a Red Alert siren in the city, which also issued alerts in the southern West Bank and parts of the Negev Desert due to detecting the missile.

"We set up two casualty treatment points and are conducting medical checks on residents coming out of the buildings," said Magen David Adom paramedic Dvir Ben Ze'ev in Beersheba, adding that he and other paramedics saw thick smoke and vehicles on fire when they arrived at the scene. Maariv also reported damage to buildings in the area.

Friday's strike comes one day after the strike on Soroka

Friday's strike in Beersheba comes one day after another Iranian ballistic missile strike that hit Soroka Medical Center on Thursday.

Rescue teams on Thursday operated at the scene to help people trapped in an elevator at the hospital, the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority reported. An 80-year-old man is in serious condition due to wounds from the blast and shrapnel.

Twenty-four hours earlier, Health Ministry Director-General Moshe Bar Siman-Tov made a dramatic decision that saved numerous lives, which was to “Clear the surgery floor in the hospital; it’s not safe.”
