The IDF killed two Palestinian terrorists, who were spotted crossing Gaza’s Yellow Line and approaching Israeli soldiers, the military said on Monday.

The IDF said the terrorists were approaching soldiers in a threatening way.

Additionally, soldiers foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons into Israel via drone from the west, the military confirmed. Surveillance units, working with the air control system, detected the drone’s incursion and alerted troops who intercepted it. Three M16 rifles were found attached to the aircraft.

On Thursday, Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed the army to change its rules of engagement to more effectively deal with aerial drones smuggling weapons from Egypt.

One terrorist was killed after approaching the Yellow Line alongside another terrorist in northern Gaza, the military announced on Saturday evening, confirming a similar incident. They were identified by the IDF as terrorists before the military opened fire on them.

IDF continues dismantling terror tunnels, infrastructure in Gaza Strip

The military has also continued to destroy terror infrastructure, including tunnels in the Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, the IDF noted that the 10th Brigade killed dozens of terrorists and dismantled several tunnels.

Over the past month, soldiers operating under the 36th Division were assisted by Yahalom Combat Engineers in uncovering and dismantling at least four terror tunnels.

Meanwhile, Hamas terrorists holed up in the Israeli-held Rafah area of Gaza will not surrender to Israel, the group's armed wing said on Sunday, urging mediators to find a solution to a crisis that threatens the month-old ceasefire.

Sources close to mediation efforts told Reuters on Thursday that terrorists could surrender their arms in exchange for passage to other areas of the enclave under a proposal aimed at resolving the stalemate.
