The IDF ordered citizens of Deir Ammar in southern Lebanon to evacuate their village after Hezbollah shot down an Israeli drone on Friday afternoon.

In a post on X/Twitter, IDF Spokesman in Arabic Col. (res.) Avichay Adraee ordered the residents to evacuate, stating that Hezbollah was launching projectiles towards Israel and IDF positions from the villages. Residents were ordered to stay at least 1,000 meters away from the village.

Earlier, Hezbollah shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) belonging to the IDF over southern Lebanon using a surface-to-air missile, the military said. The incident is currently under investigation.

This comes after US President Donald Trump announced that the current ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon was extended by three weeks.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that he, along with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the US's ambassadors to Israel and Lebanon, respectively, Mike Huckabee and Michel Issa, hosted the "High Ranking Representatives of Israel and Lebanon in the Oval Office."

"The Meeting went very well! The United States is going to work with Lebanon in order to help it protect itself from Hezbollah. The Ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended by THREE WEEKS," he wrote.

Later, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the attacks by Hezbollah, saying that Israel had a chance to "achieve a historic peace between Israel and Lebanon," but that it was "clear to us that Hezbollah is trying to sabotage this.

"We are maintaining full freedom of action against any threat, including emerging ones. We attacked yesterday, and we attacked today. We are determined to restore security to the residents of the North."

He also claimed that the US and Israel's war against Iran changed the dynamic of the region, and said that he spoke to Trump about Iran.

"I promised you that we would change the face of the Middle East, and that is exactly what we are doing. First and foremost, in Iran: I have had an excellent conversation with President Trump. He is applying very strong pressure on Iran, both economically and militarily. We are operating in full cooperation."
