The IDF informed residents of northern Israel that it would be striking sites in southern Lebanon on Wednesday.
In a message received by northern residents, the IDF warned about loud explosion noises that would be heard across the region.
Later, Ynet reported strikes were being carried out in the southern Lebanese villages of Al-Mansouri, Qantara, Nabatiya, and in the area of Wadi Saluki, citing local media.
During a visit to the 91st Division, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir said that the IDF was determined to eliminate Hezbollah forces south of the Litani River, as well as disarming it entirely.
He added that this objective couldn't be fully achieved in cooperation with the Lebanese government "as long as the Lebanese Armed Forces do not significantly improve their effectiveness on the ground."
This is a developing story.
