Hamas Nukhba terrorist Musa Abd Muhammad Hamouda was killed on Sunday in an IDF airstrike in Gaza City, the military announced on Wednesday.

Hamouda took part in planning the explosive device attack that killed four Armored Corps soldiers on September 8, 2025, according to the IDF. The soldiers were identified as St.-Sgt. Uri Lamed, 20, from Tel Mond; Sgt. Gadi Cotal, 20, from Kibbutz Afikim; Sgt. Amit Arye Regev, 19, from Modi’in-Maccabim-Reut, and Lt. Matan Abramovitz, 21, from Ganei Tikva.

“[Hamouda’s] elimination marks a significant milestone for the 162nd Division in holding accountable those responsible for the deaths of its soldiers,” the military said in a statement.

“The soldiers fell while serving under the division’s command during Operation Gideon’s Chariots, and the 215th Fire Brigade, which operates under the division, has now eliminated the terrorist responsible for their deaths.”

The strike was a joint operation between the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the IDF.

Shortly before the explosive attack on the morning of September 8, 2025, at 5 a.m., the battalion’s forces had returned to the post from nighttime operations in the area, and by 6 a.m., the soldiers were on “dawn alert,” with commanders conducting a situational assessment.

Four killed, more wounded as a result of Hamouda's September 2025 attack

At around 6 a.m., a cell comprising three terrorists arrived at the outskirts of Sheikh Radwan, west of Jabalya in northern Gaza, close to where the Nahal Brigade’s 50th Battalion was stationed. The tank was situated in a defensive position near the IDF’s post.

The terrorists approached the tank and opened fire on its crew and immediately threw an explosive device into the tank at close range. The explosion killed the four soldiers inside.

According to the initial investigation, the crew inside the tank was awake and alert during the incident, conducting scans of the area.

During subsequent exchanges of fire with the terrorists, a soldier from the Nahal Brigade was moderately wounded.

Two terrorists were hit during the exchange of fire with IDF soldiers.
