1 killed, 5 hurt in J'lem family feud

Police: Store set on fire, rocks thrown, shots fired in dispute between two Ras al-Amud families.

One man was killed and five were wounded, fourseriously and one moderately, in an apparent feud between two familiesin east Jerusalem's Wadi Kadum area on Sunday.
OnSunday afternoon, hundreds of Israel Police, Border Police and specialpolice forces were in Wadi Kadum, in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood.
Red Crescent ambulances were rushing through the neighborhood,and helicopters hovered above the area as clashes between the familiescontinued.
It was not clear what had started the feud, but youths in the neighborhood told The Jerusalem Post that one family accused the other of stealing its car.
Thefighting parties hurled rocks and fired shots at each other, and policeforces were alerted to the scene to calm the violence. However, one manwounded in the incident died of his wounds.
Magen David Adom teams evacuated three people in seriouscondition to the Hadassah University Medical Center in Ein Kerem, oneperson in serious condition to the Hadassah University Hospital atMount Scopus, and another in moderate condition to Shaare ZedekHospital.
Meanwhile, a store owned byone of the families was set on fire. Police and fire fightersextinguished the blaze. Police also managed to prevent an arson attemptagainst another store.
An investigation was launched into the arson attacks.
