The IDF chief of General Staff and senior IDF commanders are not rushing to send the army into Gaza, said Maj.-Gen. (res) Amos Gilad, head of the Defense Ministry's Diplomatic-Security Bureau.
Speaking to Army Radio on Tuesday, Gilad said the far-reaching repercussions of a lengthy operation in the Strip must be considered.
"The chief of staff, like the entire defense establishment, is not rushing into dramatic military operations in Gaza," he said. "Although from a military point off view they are relatively easy to carry out, the consequences of such operations are far-reaching."
