Border Guard arrested for involvement in counterfeit cash, arms racket

A border guard was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of being involved in the selling of arms and counterfeit money, Israel Police said Thursday.
The officer was arrested together with two civilians after trying to sell $50,000 in fake bills to an undercover agent from the Police Investigations Department.
Police said more arrests in connection with the case were expected in the near future.
The officer's custody was extended by eight days at the Jerusalem District Court on Thursday, while custody of the two civilians was extended by five days.
