Former police Cmdr. Ya'acov Borovsky, the head of the State Comptroller's Office anti-corruption unit, who allegedly tried to bribe former prime minister Ariel Sharon was investigated by the police's Economics Crime Unit in Lod on Wednesday.
Borovsky is suspected of offering Sharon a deal by which he would act leniently in the former prime minister's corruption investigation on condition that Sharon appointed him police chief.
Borovsky told The Jerusalem Post in November that he would take a vacation from work if the police decided to call him in for questioning.
