A cab driver was found dead in his car outside Kfar Hahoresh, west of Nazareth, early Monday. Police say the man was murdered.
The victim has been named as 54-year-old Yafim Winstein, of Nazareth Illit.
It was the second murder of a cab driver in the North in less than two weeks. Hamza Hamza, 48, of Bet Jan, was found murdered in Ma'alot a week and a half ago. Police have not indicated that the two incidents are related.
Passers-by noticed the body and taxi on the side of Route 75, and called the emergency services. Officers from the Amakim Police district arrived on the scene and sealed off the area.
Soon after the body was discovered, police obtained a wide-ranging court-ordered media ban prohibiting the publication of details of the investigation.
"It was clear from the murder scene that the victim was murdered," a police spokesman told The Jerusalem Post. "All possibilities are being checked."
Winstein's colleagues said he worked at the cab station for 10 years. The deceased leaves behind a wife, children, and a grandchild.
