Court returns baby to Havivi couple

The two-year-old son of Hayim and Violet Havivi will be returned to his parents' custody, Jerusalem Magistrates Court President Uri Ben-Dor ruled on Wednesday. Ben-Dor decided that welfare authorities had not proven that the infant suffered from neglect. The Havivis were charged with attempting to set fire to the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth in March of this year after welfare authorities deemed them unfit to be parents, and placed two of their younger children into foster care. The couple's lawyer, Pninat Yanai, said, "The court's decision had somewhat repaired the damage caused to the Havivi family."
