Detective suspected of being on Alperon's payroll

A Sharon District police detective was under investigation for allegedly supplying underworld figure Ya'acov Alperon's security guards with the names of owners of cars which were parked outside Alperon's Ra'anana home, in exchange for large sums of money, it was revealed Thursday. Army Radio reported that the discovery was made after a Civil Guard volunteer was phoned and asked why his car was parked outside the Alperon family home. The volunteer informed Kfar Saba detectives, raising suspicions that someone was assisting Alperon's security guards in obtaining the identities of people who were in the vicinity of their boss's home. Police sent a volunteer to park near Alperon's home, and when the man was called to explain his whereabouts their suspicions were confirmed. The detective is also suspected of pocketing NIS 15,000 which was confiscated from an illegal casino after a police raid.
