Dichter: Israel likely to release many high-level prisoners for Schalit

Public Security Minister Avi Dichter said Sunday that Israel would likely release numerous high-level prisoners as part of a deal for captured soldier Gilad Schalit. However, speaking to Israel Radio, Dichter said that the four terror chiefs causing the most controversy when it comes to their freedom, including Hamas master bomb maker Abdullah Barghouti and PFLP secretary- general Ahmed Sadat, would probably not be permitted to return to their homes in the West Bank or the Gaza Strip. Dichter also said that the IDF had given the political echelon leverage to secure Schalit's freedom, which the politicians would utilize to its fullest.
