Eini, Hirchson, Bar-On try to avert general strike

Histadrut Chairman Ofer Eini is scheduled to meet with Finance Minster Avraham Hirchson and Interior Minister Roni Bar-On on Sunday evening in an attempt to settle the dispute over the salary delays in local and religious councils. Israel Radio reported that according to Histadrut figures, some 5,500 workers in 37 local councils and 18 religious councils did not receive their salaries for the month of February. The Histadrut warned that if those salaries are not paid within three days, the public sector will strike.
