Former minister's medical license revoked

Former MK Doctor Gonen Segev's license as a pediatrician was revoked on Thursday. Segev was previously convicted on charges of trying to import 32,000 ecstasy pills into Israel. A Ministry of Health committee wrote in its paper on Segev that he "has no moral inhibitions. Harming the health of a whole society did not weigh down on his conscience." Segev's attorney, Tziyon Amir, said the decision to revoke Segev's license was "bewildering, considering he was not given an opportunity to appear before the committee."
