Gili Zamir, a 25-year-old Israeli tourist from Rishon Lezion, died Saturday morning, four days after he was seriously injured in a canoe accident in Germany.The Foreign Ministry reported that the embassy in Berlin is dealing with the transfer of the man's body back to Israel.RELATED:Body of missing IAF 669 captain found in LaosThe man's family have been informed of his death.According to German media reports the man was part of a team of fouteen canoes carrying a total of twenty nine people, including both Germans and Israelis, that set out last Tuesday.At a specific point the man's canoe overturned and he became trapped underneath in a whirlpool of water.The man was taken to hospital in Hamburg for medical treatment but doctors were forced to pronounce his death after unsuccessfully trying to save him.
