Goldwasser: Kidnappings can't be compared

Shlomo Goldwasser, father of IDF reservist Ehud Goldwasser, who was kidnapped by Hizbullah in July along with reservist Eldad Regev, told Channel 10 on Friday morning that the abduction of the 15 British sailors and marines in Iran could not be compared to his son's situation. Iran was dealing with another nation, Goldwasser said, while his son had been snatched by a terrorist group. Goldwasser said, however, that he was pleased that it was possible to talk to abductors, and that Israel could draw conclusions from the UK's approach. He praised British Prime Minister Tony Blair's decision to talk to the Iranians directly, and urged any Hizbullah officials who might want to contact him to do so in "more reliable" ways than spreading rumors.
