'Gov't leading Jews to confrontation with Islam'

"If anyone deserves an indictment, it is the Israel, that is conducting the Temple Mount excavations and is getting closer and closer to al-Aksa Mosque," the Islamic Movement said in a statement Wednesday following the first hearing in the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court over the proposed extension of the Old City ban on the movement's northern faction leader Sheikh Raed Salah. "The time has come for the Jewish street to understand that the government is leading it to a religious confrontation with Islam," continued the statement.
