The Tzohar Rabbinical Organization published a religious decree on Thursday stating that hitchhiking with an unknown driver is forbidden by halacha (Jewish law).
The decree was released following the news of the murder of Eliyahu Asheri who was killed after he was picked up at a hitchhiking post, Army Radio reported.
