IDF foils bomb attack near Gaza fence

Troops shoot one of the Palestinian attackers; 17 fugitives nabbed in W. Bank.

IDF soldiers shot at two Palestinians who had placed explosives near the Gaza-Israel border fence on Friday morning. Israel Radio reported that one of the Palestinians was wounded by the gunfire. In addition, IDF troops arrested 17 Palestinian fugitives during operations throughout the West Bank overnight Thursday. In one such operation, north of Bethlehem, soldiers discovered a stash of weapons. In another arrest operation, west of Jenin, an Islamic Jihad operative was nabbed in possession of two explosive devices, a Kalashnikov rifle, five rounds of ammunition and a bullet proof vest. The explosives were detonated in a controlled manner by IDF sappers.
