An Israeli man drowned when his private yacht sank off the southern coast of Cyprus, authorities said Sunday. Two other Israeli men aboard the yacht were rescued and were reportedly in good health.
The Cyprus coast guard said the Israeli-flagged yacht sent out an emergency signal on Sunday morning at 12:55 a.m. local time (2155 GMT Saturday) and that it sank in rough seas some 19 nautical miles south of Cape Gato, five miles (eight kilometers) west of the port town of Limassol.
The names of the three men aboard the yacht were not immediately released but authorities said they were aged between 50 and 60.
