J'lem can mail traffic tickets to drivers' homes

The Jerusalem District Court has ruled that the Jerusalem Municipality can send traffic tickets to motorists by mail to the addresses registered in the licensing bureau, the city said Monday. The ruling, which was handed down last week, overturns a lower court ruling against the city on the issue which had said that the city must send the tickets to the addresses listed in the Interior Ministry and that sending them to addresses listed elsewhere was illegal. The three-judge panel accepted the city's appeal which was filed by the respected city attorney Yossi Havilio, whom Mayor Lupolianski is trying to oust.
