Kadima to petition High Court against Amona probe

Kadima threatened on Tuesday to petition the High Court against the Knesset Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee, claiming that it was not appropriate to assign it with studying the violence during the evacuation of the illegal outpost in Amona four weeks ago. The decision to set up a parliamentary committee was reached last week, against the government's stance. Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Yuval Steinitz (Likud), who was one of the most outspoken critics of the security forces' role in the evacuation, asserted that everything was done according to proper regulations. National Infrastructures Minister Roni Baron (Kadima) stated that his party would not send any representative to "this politicized media circus," Army Radio reported.
