Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman told Israel Radio on Friday morning that Israel should recall its ambassador to Russia for discussions.
Lieberman's comments came in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement on Thursday that Russia would be willing to hold contacts with Hamas.
The recall of the ambassador would send a signal to Russia, Lieberman said, adding that Putin's motive was most likely the desire to isolate Chechen Muslim extremists from the rest of the world's Muslim terrorist networks.
