Livni finalizes Rosenstein extradition

Members of the Justice Ministry's top echelon met on Sunday night to discuss the upcoming extradition of underworld kingpin Ze'ev Rosenstein to the United States. Justice Minister Tzipi Livni decided to sign the extradition order, but said she would postpone signing for another week, in order to allow Rosenstein's attorneys to raise points they had not raised in court. State Prosecutor Eran Shendar was also present at the meeting, as was Gal Lebratov, the head of international desk at the state prosecutor's office, Army Radio reported. The group assembled in part to discuss Rosenstein's request to delay his extradition by two weeks in order to allow him to appeal to the High Court of Justice.
